This CD/MP3 player combination includes a unique new FIF MP3 format that improves the searching and creation of playlists. More than 150 tracks can be placed on one CD which is scanned automatically by the Exonion's built-in processor to create a table of contents searchable by genre, artist and track. data is read into and played from a memory buffer instead of the CD, delivering 10 hours of playback from a battery charge and cutting down wear on the mechanism. Four equalisers and a remote control are standard and the antishock protection is tested at 8 minutes compared with 10 to 30 seconds for most CD players. A car audio tape adaptor is also available.
