The Rare Mono Shop in Japan is selling the innovative noise-cancelling headphones for US$45. They measure 30mm in diameter, weigh 180g (excluding battery) and use a NDFeB magnet for the driver. They run on two AA batteries with a continuous use battery life of around 80 hours.
Noise-cancelling headphone features have in the past been reserved for professional and top of the line models and the Thanko product is believed to be the first entry-level commercial offer for USB use. The practical applications of noise-cancelling abilities could see workers, students and anyone who needs a moment's silence able to control their external soundscapes easily and efficently.
